On certain models of Hale fire pumps, the front bearing housing has an oil reservoir to lubricate the bearing bushing. The front bearing assembly is called an “Auto Lube.” It is important to change the oil in the Auto Lube at least once a year. This not only keeps fresh lubricating oil on the bearing, but also ensures that water does not get into the reservoir where it can cause costly damage.
Over the years, we have seen Auto Lubes that have never been serviced. We’ve seen damage from those that haven’t been serviced in several years. If you have a Hale pump and need assistance in servicing the Auto Lube – or any other part of the pump or the fire truck itself.
